David Osborne

Small business IT, from the website to the cameras.

I build and look after websites, booking, invoicing and menus for small businesses in and around Lewes, and I do the parts nobody enjoys: Microsoft 365 hardening, hardware, networks and CCTV. The uptime is published, so you never have to take my word for it.

Getting you online, and keeping you there

For shops, takeaways and sole traders who need the whole thing to work, not just a website.

The IT side, when there is no IT department

For businesses with a few staff, a cupboard of equipment and nobody obvious to ask.

Work I look after

Both sites below are checked once a minute from outside my network. The bars are the last forty checks, drawn live from the public status page, which shows the bad weeks as well as the good ones.

Big Fish Lewes

Korean-Japanese fusion fish and chips. Hosted, backed up and monitored. If the origin server drops, a nightly static copy serves the menu from Cloudflare instead, because a takeaway going dark at seven on a Friday reads as "this business has closed".

Ellie's Atelier

Bespoke alterations, bridal and textile restoration. Website, appointment booking and invoicing, all joined up, so an enquiry becomes an appointment and then an invoice without three separate systems and a spreadsheet.

Who you would be dealing with

Me, directly. I work in infrastructure and cyber security and take this on alongside it, which means I am picky about what I say yes to, and you are never handed to an account manager.

The full record is on my CV. The working notes, how things are actually built and what broke on the way, are in Field Notes.
